Samsung Electronics has announced an expansion of its Galaxy AI platform, outlining plans to further develop a multi-agent ecosystem designed to provide users with broader choice and flexibility across supported devices.
The company stated that the updated approach reflects changing user behaviour, with recent insights indicating that a significant proportion of users rely on multiple AI agents for different tasks as artificial intelligence becomes more integrated into daily routines. According to the data cited by Samsung, nearly eight in ten users now use more than two types of AI agents.
Galaxy AI is structured to operate at the operating system level rather than within standalone applications. Samsung said this framework-level integration allows the system to interpret user context across the device, reducing the need to switch between apps or repeat commands. The platform is intended to support cross-application workflows by functioning in the background.
As part of the expansion, Samsung will introduce support for Perplexity AI as an additional AI agent on upcoming flagship Galaxy devices. Users will be able to access Perplexity through a dedicated voice wake phrase, “Hey Plex,” or through quick-access controls such as pressing and holding the side button.
Samsung indicated that Perplexity’s AI agent will be embedded across select Samsung applications, including Samsung Notes, Clock, Gallery, Reminder and Calendar, as well as certain third-party applications. The integration is expected to support multi-step workflows that allow users to move between tasks without manually managing individual apps.
The company said further information regarding supported devices and availability will be shared at a later date as it continues to expand its AI ecosystem through collaborations with external partners.
