Garmin Rolls Out New Software Updates for Select Smartwatches

Garmin announces new software and feature updates for select smartwatches including Venu X1, vívoactive 6, fēnix 8 Pro, Forerunner 570 and Forerunner 970. Updates are also available through the Garmin Connect app.

Enhanced gear tracking allows users to log expanded gear types such as shoes, skis and bike components, create gear collections and auto assign gear to activities. Users can also track gear life directly from their watch.

New smartwatch features include a course planner for race preparation and live sports scores from 15 leagues. Fitness additions include mixed session tracking and personalized Garmin Fitness Coach plans. Cyclists can receive Varia voice alerts for approaching vehicles.

Health updates introduce sleep alignment insights and lifestyle logging for caffeine and alcohol intake. Accessibility features now include spoken time and health data along with color display options.

The free updates are rolling out to compatible devices.
