Canon has been named a Leader in the IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Print Security Solutions and Services Hardcopy 2025–2026 Vendor Assessment.
The IDC study evaluated 11 global vendors based on print and document security capabilities, including device security features, software, cloud integration and managed services.
Canon’s approach focuses on a multilayered security model called “360° Protection.” The framework addresses risks across devices, documents, networks and cloud services. Security is applied across the full product lifecycle, from setup and monitoring to updates and secure data erasure at end of use.
The company also follows a “security by design” approach, integrating security features during product planning and development. Canon printers are designed to meet requirements in the NIST SP 800-193 guidelines and use authentication and access management based on a zero trust model.
This marks Canon’s third time being placed in the Leaders category, following previous recognitions in the 2022-2023 and 2019-2020 assessments.
