Bosch Introduces 800V Electric Drive System for High-Performance Logistics Applications
Bosch Engineering has introduced an 800-volt electric drive system for intralogistics at LogiMAT 2026, targeting high-power applications such as forklifts, terminal transporters and industrial vehicles.
The system includes the SMG230 electric motor and a silicon carbide-based inverter, designed for voltages between 400 and 850 volts. It delivers up to 188 kW continuous power and 550 Nm peak torque, supporting heavy-duty operations. The use of 800V architecture improves power density and efficiency, with the inverter achieving over 99 percent efficiency.
The compact design allows integration into existing platforms, enabling conversion from internal combustion engines to electric systems. The solution also benefits from automotive-grade reliability, safety and diagnostic standards.
Bosch has partnered with Bosch Rexroth to offer compatible transmission systems and features such as collision avoidance using sensors and cameras.
The new drive system is designed to support zero-emission operations in logistics centers, ports and industrial environments.
