New Center of Excellence to Accelerate Research in AI and Advanced Radiology

GE HealthCare and Stanford Medicine Department of Radiology have expanded their long-standing collaboration to establish a new Center of Excellence focused on advancing radiology research and innovation.

Building on more than four decades of partnership, the initiative will drive research across magnetic resonance imaging, computed tomography, molecular imaging, artificial intelligence, pharmaceutical diagnostics and interventional radiology. The collaboration aims to accelerate discovery, clinical translation and real-world impact in medical imaging.

The Center of Excellence will combine academic, clinical and technological expertise to develop advanced imaging techniques, improve diagnostic accuracy and streamline radiology workflows. Key focus areas include AI-driven image analysis, multimodality integration and next-generation imaging systems such as photon-counting CT and total-body PET/CT.

The partnership will also support progress in minimally invasive, image-guided procedures and enhance research in areas such as oncology, cardiology and neurology.
