Tata Electronics is hiring a Direct Materials – Sourcing Lead to manage procurement of raw materials and components for high volume manufacturing. The role focuses on supplier management cost optimization and ensuring smooth production supply.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies for production materials
- Ensure timely availability of materials for manufacturing
- Manage suppliers based on quality cost and delivery targets
- Work with production planning and quality teams
- Monitor inventory levels to avoid shortages or excess stock
- Drive cost reduction through supplier optimization
- Track supplier performance and conduct regular reviews
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies and standards
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Supply Chain or related field
- MBA preferred
- 9 to 14 years of experience in sourcing or supply chain
- Experience in high volume manufacturing environments
- Strong knowledge of direct materials in electronics or manufacturing
- Proficiency in ERP tools like SAP or Oracle and Excel
- Strong negotiation and analytical skills
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in electronics or automotive industry
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing JIT and Kanban
- Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure
