Siemens Water Digital Solutions Improve Quality Monitoring and Energy Efficiency
Siemens has expanded its digital portfolio for water, wastewater and waste management, showcasing new solutions at IFAT 2026.
The company introduced SIWA Quality Inspector, a software tool that monitors water quality in real time across treatment and distribution systems. It helps detect issues early and supports proactive maintenance and operations.
Another solution, SIWA Treatment Optimizer, uses physics based models and digital twin technology to improve wastewater treatment processes. It can reduce energy consumption and emissions by up to 25% by optimizing plant operations.
Siemens also highlighted the use of soft sensors to estimate key parameters such as biological oxygen demand and emissions, improving visibility where physical sensors are limited.
In waste management, Siemens is expanding its automation portfolio to cover the full lifecycle from collection to recycling and energy recovery.
An integrated control center brings together data from across systems into a single platform, enabling real time monitoring, predictive maintenance and more efficient operations.
