Canon maintains the No. 1 global market share in interchangeable lens digital cameras for the 23rd consecutive year from 2003 to 2025.

Canon’s EOS system includes digital SLR and mirrorless cameras built around proprietary CMOS sensors, DIGIC image processors and RF and EF lenses. The lineup ranges from professional flagship models to entry level cameras, supported by an extensive lens portfolio.

Canon strengthened its mirrorless portfolio through the EOS R system launched in 2018. Recent additions include the EOS R50 V released in May 2025 and the EOS R6 Mark III launched in November 2025. The company also expanded its RF lens lineup with seven new models in 2025.

Earlier milestones include the EOS Digital Rebel in 2003, the EOS 5D series and the 8K capable EOS R5. Canon states it will continue advancing imaging technologies across photo and video segments.
