Samsung Electronics announces a beta program for the latest version of Bixby, upgraded to function as a conversational device agent.

The update enables users to control Galaxy devices using natural language instead of specific commands. Users can describe what they want in their own words and Bixby interprets the intent to adjust settings or explain device behavior. For example, it can activate features like keeping the screen on while viewing or suggest settings such as accidental touch protection based on context.

Bixby also introduces real time web search within its interface. Users can ask for information such as hotel options in a city and receive up to date results without switching to a browser.

The update is available with One UI 8.5 in select markets including Germany, India, Korea, Poland, the UK and the U.S., with wider rollout planned.
