Daikin Industries has been selected for the third consecutive year in “Innovation Momentum 2026: The Global Top 100,” an award recognizing companies advancing global innovation through patent development.
The recognition is based on analysis of patent data by LexisNexis Intellectual Property Solutions. The evaluation measures technological momentum by assessing patent portfolios through indicators such as citation frequency and the market coverage protected by patents.
Daikin has also shared several patents related to air conditioners using the low global warming potential refrigerant R32. Through participation in the WIPO GREEN platform, the company has registered 419 patents to support wider adoption of sustainable cooling technologies.
The company continues to expand research and development through collaborations with startups, universities and research institutes. These partnerships have increased patent applications both in Japan and internationally.
Daikin stated that its global R&D strategy focuses on carbon neutrality, customer focused solutions and new technologies related to air and climate systems.
