LG Electronics’ Decades of Manufacturing Know-How Meets
NVIDIA’s Robotics Stack At LG’s New Data Factory in Seoul
LG Electronics (LG) has recently revealed its intention to enhance its collaboration with NVIDIA in the field of robotics. Senior officials from NVIDIA were hosted by LG at its Data Factory, which is currently being constructed at the Yangjae R&D Campus in Seoul, to evaluate the trajectory of their partnership and explore additional avenues for synergy.
On August 13 (local time), LG Group and NVIDIA formalized their strategic collaboration by signing a memorandum of understanding (MOU) at NVIDIA’s headquarters in Santa Clara, California. The subsequent meeting just four days later at LG’s Data Factory indicates a strong commitment from both companies to expedite the establishment of their strategic alliance and accelerate the commercialization of robotics initiatives.
During this meeting, representatives from both organizations also assessed the progress of LG’s Data Factory, which is expected to be fully operational by the end of the year. LG has successfully deployed its self-developed and field-tested LG CLOiD™ home robots on a large scale to generate, collect, and learn from data.
