Nikon Corporation releases the NIKKOR Z 70-200mm f/2.8 VR S II, a fast telephoto zoom lens for full frame Z mount mirrorless cameras.

Part of the S Line series, the lens weighs 998 grams, around 26% lighter than its predecessor. It covers 70mm to 200mm with a constant f/2.8 aperture. The redesign improves mobility for handheld shooting and video use with gimbals.

The lens adopts the Silky Swift VCM autofocus system, delivering up to 3.5 times faster AF and improved tracking during zooming. It uses multiple specialized elements including Super ED, aspherical ED and fluorite to reduce aberrations and enhance image clarity.

Additional features include 6.0 stop vibration reduction, internal zoom design, Arca Swiss tripod compatibility and support for Z teleconverters. The lens also introduces Meso Amorphous Coat and ARNEO Coat to reduce ghosting and flare.
