Perplexity’s AI-powered Comet browser has started rolling out to Indian users who hold a Pro or Max subscription as of September 22, 2025. The browser, initially launched in July is being made available to more users through a waitlist system while weekly invite batches are sent out. Comet brings several AI-driven features to web browsing including an integrated assistant that can help automate everyday tasks like booking meetings and sending emails. The browser is built on the Chromium framework which also supports Chrome extensions and familiar navigation tools.

Those with a Pro or Max subscription get the broadest access and some Airtel subscribers in India have also received complimentary Pro subscriptions through an ongoing partnership. Comet aims to simplify web use by allowing users to interact in a conversational way and have the AI handle actions directly within the browser, reducing the need for manual navigation and task switches.
