Hitachi Digital Services released its FY2024 sustainability impact report, its second annual and first comprehensive ESG disclosure since becoming a standalone business. The report highlights strong progress, guided by a full Materiality Assessment, and sets 18 ESG goals for FY2025 an 80% increase over last year.
Key achievements include:
- Responsible Procurement: 100% completion of sustainable procurement training and supplier compliance with the company’s code of conduct, aligned with the Responsible Business Alliance.
- GHG Emissions: Completion of Scope 1, 2, and 3 data collection, creating a baseline to achieve net zero by FY2050, with near-term SBTi-aligned targets by FY2025.
- Water Conservation: A recycling plant in Hyderabad treats over 100 m³ of water daily, with over 40% of site water recycled.
- IoT-Driven Decarbonization: Smart energy management systems monitor and optimize electricity and gas use at DS and customer sites.
- Employee Engagement: Over 1,185 volunteer hours contributed through Giving Week, surpassing goals.
Long-term commitments include carbon neutrality in Scope 1 & 2 by 2030, 100% renewable electricity by 2030, and net zero by 2050. Rooted in its mission of Powering Good, Hitachi DS aims to drive customer sustainability while embedding responsible innovation into its own operations.
