Panasonic has announced that its Vietnam manufacturing site, Panasonic Appliances Vietnam Co., Ltd. (PAPVN), has shipped a total of five million washing machines as of September 2025. Production began in 2013 to meet rising demand driven by Vietnam’s economic growth. The site also includes an R&D center, where local teams design products tailored to consumer needs in Vietnam and nearby regions.
PAPVN has grown into a key global hub supplying Southeast Asia, the Middle East and Oceania. Early operations focused on top-loading models, including versions developed with a detergent manufacturer to suit rural water conditions. The site later introduced technologies such as Blue Ag+ sterilization and energy-saving features that earned national recognition in 2020. Panasonic became the leading top-loading brand in Vietnam in 2018.
As demand for drum machines and washer-dryers increased, Panasonic began developing these models in Vietnam from 2018 and launched the CARE+ EDITION series in 2022. These products include AI-based features and a design that aligns with growing consumer expectations.
Panasonic plans to continue offering locally optimized, energy-efficient laundry solutions from Vietnam to support households across Southeast Asia and beyond.
