Tata Electronics has signed a new Memorandum of Understanding with NIELIT Kohima to strengthen semiconductor talent development in Nagaland and the wider Northeast. The agreement builds on an earlier collaboration from January 2025 and focuses on skill development for semiconductor assembly, testing, marking and packaging (ATMP).

Under the partnership, Tata Electronics and NIELIT will co-develop training programs, curricula and certifications aligned with industry needs. Tata Electronics will also offer internships and vocational training to give students practical exposure. The goal is to equip young people with the skills needed for employment across India’s growing semiconductor ecosystem.

The initiative supports Tata Electronics’ ongoing work in the region, including its high-volume semiconductor assembly and test facility in Jagiroad, Assam, which is expected to create about 27,000 jobs, including 15,000 direct roles.
