Nokia has entered a collaboration with Bharti Airtel to open Airtel’s network capabilities to third-party developers through the Nokia Network as Code platform. The partnership aims to give developers and enterprises access to Airtel’s pan-India network assets which can support new business use cases across multiple industries. After successful trials Airtel’s network APIs will be offered on a subscription model to developers, system integrators and enterprises through Nokia’s platform.

The initiative will allow developers to build advanced solutions by using Airtel network features such as AI, 5G and edge computing. Network APIs enable operators to virtualize parts of their network and offer tailored features to applications which is becoming an important driver of new digital services and future monetization models.
