Bosch has announced new cockpit innovations focused on artificial intelligence that will be showcased at CES 2026 in Las Vegas. Central to the announcement is Bosch’s new AI extension platform, a high performance computing unit designed to add advanced AI functions to existing vehicle cockpit systems without requiring changes to hardware architecture.

The platform is developed in collaboration with Microsoft and NVIDIA and is intended to make in vehicle experiences more intuitive safer and easier to update over time. According to Bosch, the AI powered cockpit can understand driver context routines and preferences, enabling features such as voice based interaction scene recognition navigation support and integrated infotainment. For example, simple spoken inputs can trigger coordinated actions across multiple vehicle systems.

The AI extension platform is built on NVIDIA DRIVE AGX Orin and uses the NVIDIA CUDA ecosystem to support integration of automaker specific AI models. It offers significant additional computing capacity and supports both air and liquid cooling. Bosch is also working with Microsoft to enable productivity use cases such as safe access to Microsoft 365 applications through voice control and contextual system responses.

Bosch expects growing demand for AI enabled in vehicle infotainment and aims to reach more than two billion euros in related sales by the end of the decade. The company will demonstrate the platform publicly at CES 2026.
