ThinkPad and ThinkStation P Series Focus on Local AI Workflows and Battery Innovation
Lenovo has introduced a new range of ThinkPad and ThinkStation P Series workstations designed for AI development, data processing and creative workloads. The lineup includes ThinkPad P14s Gen 7, ThinkPad P16s Gen 5, ThinkPad P1 Gen 9 and ThinkStation P5 Gen 2.
These systems use NVIDIA RTX PRO Blackwell GPUs along with Intel Core Ultra and AMD Ryzen AI PRO processors. Dedicated NPUs enable on-device AI tasks, reducing reliance on cloud processing and improving speed for workflows like CAD, BIM, data science and model development.
The ThinkPad P14s Gen 7 focuses on portability, while the P16s Gen 5 targets mainstream users needing balanced performance. The P1 Gen 9 supports advanced tasks like rendering and 3D design. The ThinkStation P5 Gen 2 desktop is built for heavy workloads such as medical imaging, simulation and AI model training.
Lenovo has also introduced a silicon-anode battery concept with improved energy density, aimed at better battery life without increasing size. Security features include ThinkShield protections, while sustainability efforts include recycled materials and energy certifications.
The new devices will be available globally starting April 2026, with different models releasing through June 2026.
