Siemens PSS E Gridscale X Uses AI to Improve Transmission Planning Efficiency

Siemens has introduced the next generation of PSS E on Gridscale X, bringing AI driven capabilities to transmission planning.

The platform combines simulation with domain specific AI and automation to improve speed, scalability and decision making in grid planning. It supports over 2000 open APIs, enabling integration, automation and digital twin based planning.

The new system is designed to handle growing demand from data centers and large energy loads, helping planners assess and prioritize grid connection requests more efficiently.

A cloud native interface improves workflows and reduces response times for connection studies by up to 50%, allowing operators to manage increasing grid complexity while maintaining reliability.

The platform aims to enhance transparency and expand team capacity by automating routine processes and enabling faster analysis.

This development supports the transition toward more resilient and sustainable power systems with advanced digital planning tools.
