Apple Introduces Monthly Subscriptions with 12 Month Commitment on App Store

New subscription model to offer flexible payments and improved transparency for users

Apple has introduced a new subscription option on the App Store allowing monthly payments with a 12 month commitment. This model gives users a more affordable way to access subscriptions while ensuring a clear payment structure.

Users can cancel at any time but the subscription will continue until the committed payment period is completed. They can view completed and remaining payments directly in their Apple Account. Apple will also send reminders before each renewal through email and notifications.

Developers can set up this subscription model through App Store Connect and test it using Xcode. The feature will be available globally except in the United States and Singapore and will roll out with upcoming software updates across iOS, iPadOS, macOS, tvOS and visionOS.
