GE Appliances Alabama Investment Expands Manufacturing and Healthcare Access
GE Appliances, a Haier company, has invested $28 million in upgrades at its Decatur, Alabama refrigeration facility, along with launching a new on-site primary care clinic for employees and their families.
The investment includes advanced automation equipment to improve production efficiency and capacity, along with workplace enhancements such as upgraded lighting and air-conditioning systems. The Decatur plant is the largest refrigeration manufacturing site in the U.S. and a key part of GE Appliances’ $3 billion plan to expand domestic manufacturing.
A major part of the investment is the new healthcare clinic, managed by CareATC, offering free primary care services to employees. The initiative builds on similar programs across other facilities, which have shown increased healthcare usage and reduced emergency visits.
The company also continues its “On the Clock Care” program, allowing employees to access healthcare services during work hours.
