Hyundai Motor Group announced a physical AI implementation plan through its Robotics LAB at CES Foundry 2026. The update highlighted a three year partnership with DEEPX focused on an on device AI chip designed to act as an edge brain for robots.

The chip integrates proprietary Robotics LAB software and is produced by DEEPX. It is designed to operate at under 5 watts and enables robots to perceive surroundings and make decisions locally without cloud connectivity. This approach supports autonomous operation in factories, buildings logistics and mobility environments.

The edge AI chip has already been applied to Robotics LAB projects including Facey facial recognition technology and DAL e Delivery which is currently in validation. Future use is planned across AI security solutions and next generation mobile robots.

The initiative aligns with the Group’s Robotics Total Solution strategy which combines hardware and software to support stable mass production and supply chain flexibility. The plan aims to address labor shortages and industrial safety challenges by enabling reliable physical AI systems in real world settings.
