Meta AI Data Center Tulsa Oklahoma Expands Infrastructure and Jobs

Meta has started construction on a new AI-optimised data center in Tulsa, Oklahoma, marking its first facility in the state and its 28th in the US.

The project represents an investment of over $1 billion and is expected to create around 1,000 construction jobs at peak and about 100 operational roles once completed. The facility will support Meta’s AI workloads and digital services.

Meta plans to invest more than $25 million in local infrastructure, including roads and water systems. It is also partnering with local institutions such as Tulsa Tech and Tulsa Community College to support workforce development programs focused on digital infrastructure skills.

The data center will use a water-efficient cooling system designed to minimise consumption and will be powered by 100% clean energy. Meta is also supporting local initiatives, including financial assistance programs for utility bills and water conservation projects.
