Samsung Electronics announced the global launch of its 13 inch Color E-Paper display, expanding its digital signage lineup with a new model built using bio-resin derived from phytoplankton. The display uses digital ink technology and ultra low power operation as an alternative to printed signage.

The 13 inch Color E-Paper is similar in size to A4 paper and offers a 1600 x 1200 resolution in a 4:3 format. It is designed for use on shelves counters tables and doors where paper signage is still common. The display includes a rechargeable battery USB Type C support and flexible mounting options, allowing deployment without permanent power connections. Its slim 17.9 mm design weighs about 0.9 kg including the battery.

The housing material has been verified by UL and consists of 45 percent recycled plastic and 10 percent phytoplankton based bio-resin. Samsung states this approach can reduce carbon emissions during manufacturing compared to petroleum based plastics. Packaging for the product is made entirely from paper.

The display maintains static images at zero watts power and uses minimal energy during updates. Content can be managed locally through the Samsung E-Paper App or remotely using Samsung VXT, Samsung’s cloud based content and device management platform. A 20 inch Color E-Paper model will be shown at ISE 2026.
