Sony Innovation Fund 4 Launched to Support Global Startup Growth

Sony has announced the launch of Sony Innovation Fund 4 L.P., a new investment fund managed by Sony Ventures Corporation.

The fund has completed its first closing and began operations in April 2026. It aims to support venture companies across growth stages, with a focus on expanding investment activities globally.

Initial investors include MUFG Bank, Development Bank of Japan, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, Sony Bank, and Sony Group. The company plans to grow the fund to over JPY 20 billion, with total assets under management across its investment platform expected to exceed JPY 85 billion.

Sony has been active in venture investments since launching its corporate venture capital initiative in 2016. Over time, it has expanded into areas such as growth-stage investments, environmental innovation, and regional initiatives including Africa.
