At Glastonbury 2025, Arcadia Spectacular returned with its massive Dragonfly Stage, a 13-metre installation built from a Sea King helicopter. With new lighting and laser upgrades, the setup included advanced wireless audio technology for the first time, using Sennheiser’s Spectera wireless system to manage sound in one of the festival’s most complex environments.

The Dragonfly Stage needed strong and stable wireless coverage across a wide area. Spectera delivered this through multiple antennas and base stations, supporting in-ear monitors (IEMs) and microphones for DJs and vocalists. The system’s low latency and high audio quality allowed performers to hear detailed mixes even with the stage suspended above the crowd and surrounded by sound delay.

Sennheiser’s team, including engineers Kevin Gwyther-Brown and Marcus Blight, worked closely with Arcadia to ensure the system was set up properly. Inside the helicopter structure, a mix of IEMs and EW-DX handheld mics with MM 435 capsules kept performances running smoothly. Engineers could monitor and adjust audio using a direct MADI connection from FOH.

Spectera helped solve RF interference issues while offering clear, reliable audio. The setup also supported artists like Becky Hill and extended coverage across the performance area, setting a new benchmark for festival audio setups.
