Samsung SmartThings IKEA Integration Enhances Accessible Smart Homes

Samsung Electronics has expanded its SmartThings ecosystem by integrating new smart home devices from IKEA.

The integration includes 25 Matter-enabled devices such as smart bulbs, plugs, sensors, and remotes. These devices can now connect directly to SmartThings without requiring an additional IKEA hub, simplifying setup and improving accessibility.

The system allows users to automate and monitor home environments, including tracking activity through door sensors, managing air quality, and optimising sleep conditions using temperature and humidity data. Alerts can also be triggered for events such as water leaks.

A scroll wheel remote enables precise control of lighting and other connected devices, improving user interaction.

Samsung has also adopted Thread 1.4 technology, enabling better connectivity across devices and brands within the smart home ecosystem.
