Garmin EASA Certification Retrofit Solutions Expand Aircraft Upgrade Options
Garmin has received certification from the European Union Aviation Safety Agency for several aviation retrofit solutions across helicopters, business jets, and general aviation aircraft.
The approvals include the GI 275 electronic flight display for helicopters, designed as a replacement for legacy cockpit instruments. Garmin also received certification for the G5000 integrated flight deck for Cessna Citation XLS+ aircraft, offering enhanced situational awareness and updated avionics capabilities.
Additionally, the Cirrus Perspective+ upgrade allows existing Cirrus SR series aircraft to integrate updated features and improved performance. Garmin’s GDM 450R distance measuring equipment has also been certified, enabling pilots to track multiple signals and upgrade navigation capabilities.
These solutions aim to modernise aircraft systems, improve operational efficiency, and address legacy equipment limitations.
Garmin is also expecting approval for its GDL 60 datalink system, which supports connected aircraft features. The technologies will be showcased at AERO Friedrichshafen 2026.
