Siemens Mobility has achieved a new cybersecurity milestone after TÜV SÜD certified its complete Train Blueprint Architecture for the third consecutive time under international IEC 62443 standards.
The certification covers IEC 62443-2-4 and IEC 62443-3-3 and has now been expanded to include the entire vehicle architecture, including Automatic Train Control systems. IEC 62443 is a globally recognized cybersecurity standard for industrial automation and control systems and addresses security across the full lifecycle from development and integration to operation and maintenance.
As trains become more connected and software driven, cybersecurity has become critical to protecting operational technology and ensuring safe and reliable rail services. Compliance with IEC 62443 also supports alignment with rail specific frameworks such as CLC/TS 50701 and the upcoming IEC 63452, as well as regulatory requirements including the EU Cyber Resilience Act.
With this certification, Siemens Mobility strengthens its position as a trusted supplier of secure rolling stock platforms and sets a higher benchmark for cybersecurity across the rail industry.
