Hyundai Motor Group Launches MobED Alliance to Accelerate Robot Platform Commercialization

Hyundai Motor Group has launched the MobED Alliance to accelerate commercialization of its MobED mobile robot platform. The initiative was announced during Automation World 2026 in Seoul.

The alliance brings together industry partners component suppliers robotics solution companies and public agencies to develop a robotics ecosystem and support MobED’s market entry in South Korea.

MobED short for Mobile Eccentric Droid is a versatile robot platform designed to operate across different environments. It features advanced maneuverability automatic self leveling on uneven surfaces and the ability to integrate industry specific modules for multiple use cases.

Through the alliance Hyundai Motor Group Robotics LAB will provide the core MobED technology platform. Component suppliers will support production of key parts such as sensors electronics and batteries while robotics solution companies will develop customized applications and manage deployments.

The ecosystem plans to develop up to 10 industry specific modules including outdoor delivery systems security patrol drone stations and digital signage platforms.

Hyundai will also showcase the MobED platform at Automation World 2026 with demonstrations highlighting applications such as delivery broadcasting and autonomous driving.
