Qualcomm and Wayve Collaborate on AI Platform for Automated Driving

Qualcomm Technologies and Wayve announced a collaboration to develop a production ready AI system for advanced driver assistance and automated driving.

The partnership integrates Wayve’s AI Driver software with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Ride platform and Active Safety system. The combined solution is designed to help automakers deploy driver assistance technologies more efficiently across different vehicle models and markets.

The platform supports a range of capabilities from hands off driver assistance to eyes off automated driving depending on regulatory approvals and vehicle configurations.

Wayve’s AI Driver uses large scale real world driving data to learn driving behavior and adapt to different road conditions and regions. Snapdragon Ride provides the computing hardware and safety architecture required to run AI workloads inside vehicles.

The pre integrated system aims to simplify development and reduce integration complexity for automakers. It also supports future upgrades and scalability across different vehicle tiers and driving capabilities.

The companies are also exploring future use of Qualcomm system on chips in Level 4 robotaxi applications.
